Audio releases - Hallo to Veeralippattu - a review

Here is an attempt to rate / review the songs released in the month of july '07.

'hallo'

the hit duo vayalar sarath chandravarma & alexpaul is teamed again in 'hallo'.
'chellathamara...' is a solo song by chitra, this melody song's bgm is having a mix of north indian folk also.
'kadukittu...' is a fast number by mgsreekumar has all the ingrediants of a typical mohanlal song.
'mazhavillin...' is a song which is not so impressive in its presentation.

the film 'hallo' has background music by alexpaul itself, but it is not standing high to be specified.

'arabikkadha'

'arabikkadha' is having the debutant music director bijibal & debutant lyricist anil panachooran.
'thirike njan...' by yesudas concentrates on the feelings of gulf people, the lyricist as well as the singer has delivered their maximum.
'tharaka malarukal...' is a romantic duet by vineeth sreenivasan & sujatha.the song is catchy with its simplicity in the music.
'thane...' is a duet by rajiv & soumya is another attractive melody in the album.
'chora veena...' is a revolutionary song dedicated to the old martyrs, is sung by the lyricist itself.

'arabikkadha' has background music by bijibal, which is a promising name in the field.
the gulf mood & village backdrop has got its own identification with his beats.

'july 4'

'july 4' has the combination of old hit team shibu chakravarthy & ouseppachan.
but they failed miserably to keep their old fame.
'oru vakku...' is a romantic duet, may be you can hear it once.
'kattupoocha...' is a fast peppy number.ne need to promote such songs, since it stands very below average.
we cant expect such a poor output from ouseppachan, who once delivered superhit songs in 'kathodu kathoram', 'chilambu','unnikale oru katha parayam','vandanam','ulladakkam' etc.

the film 'july 4' has background music by ouseppachan, nothing big here to specify it.

'mission 90 days'

'mission 90 days' has music by jaison j nair & lyric by vayalar sarth chandra varma.
you would expect high from jaison after hearing his songs in 'anachandam'.
but 'mizhineeru...' is a pathos one, which is not upto the mark.

the film 'mission 90 days' has background music by gopi sundar.though not remarkle enough to beat his previous works, 'big b' & 'notebook', he is now a big name in the bgm area.

'sooryan'

'sooryan' is having ilayaraja's music for girish puthenchery's lyrics.
'istakkarikku...' is a duet by madhu balakrishnan & manjari.ilayaraja has concentrated on the melody part as well as thefast paced orchetration.
'vasantha nilave...' is solo melody by madhu balakrishnan.the heavinessin the orchestation can sometimes destroy the mood of the song.
'manasse...' is a pathos by yesudas.
'pattellam...' sung by vijay yesudas is a cambus song.though the song is not upto the mark,it can suit the situation in the film.
'sabhdamayi...' sung by sankaran namboothiri & kavalam sreekumar is rich & eminent by its way, ilayaraja has got a chance to keep his name once again through this classical number which is the main highlight of this album.

the film 'sooryan' has background music by ilayaraja itself. his bgm on this film based on classical music theme has given a good pace to a certain extend.

'veeralippattu'

'veeralippattu' has the music by viswajith & lyrics by vayalar sarath chandravarma.
the duet,'ilaneerin...' by chitra & anwar is the main attraction of the album.it has got the signature of the debutant music director.
'alilayum...' by vineeth sreenivasan & manjari is a festival mood folk song.

the film 'veeralippattu' has background music by mohan sitara.his work is a great relief for the traditional village subject & dragging scenes.
